The Decatur County Genealogical Society was formed in 1995, and Incorporated in 2013. It is an organization created for the purpose of collecting, preserving and safeguarding manuscripts, books, artifacts, family, church and public records, and other materials relating to history and genealogy in general and permanently preserving the historical and genealogical records of Decatur County and the surrounding area.
Yearly Memberships are $20 for individual, and only $25 for family.
Our meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month, except December, at 10:00am.

Now that we are in our new home, we have finally been able to set up some normal operating hours.
We are open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Other times by appointment only. For appointment, call 229-243-7387.
